WARMACHINE and HORDES at Digital Overload

That’s right, the New England crew is bringing gaming to Digital Overload 2010.

What is Digital Overload 2010 you ask?  Well, according to their web site, it’s the biggest LAN party ever hosted by a web comic.  What WARMACHINE and HORDES gamers need to know is that we’ve got three days of gaming fun lined up and a special discount on admission.

The convention is March 5, 6, 7 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.  Normal at-the-door tabletop gaming (not coming to play the computer games) registration is $35.  But, I’ve been told that if you print out the flyer below you can get in for $30 for all three days or regular admission of $20 for a day pass:

My Cryx have a new home

Just two days ago, the new WARMACHINE branded figures case I ordered at TempleCon 2010 arrived.  I have to say that I’m very impressed with the quality of the product and the customer service I received from Romeo and the crew at BattleFoam.  The web is flooded with pictures of these things now if you know where to look, but I’ll add mine as well.  This first photo is of all the trays from the case with my Cryx collection safely housed in them:

You’ll note a couple of things here.  First, I have a whole tray spare for room to expand.  This isn’t the standard load-out so the spare tray is a medium sized tray where I plan to put my cavalry when I finally get them assembled.  What we have here are two small base trays, three medium base trays (perfect for bonejacks and bane knights), and a custom tray for the helljacks and bigger models.

Here’s a closer shot of the custom tray:

This tray was custom cut from tracing that Romeo made at TempleCon.  Here you see it holding Terminus, the Deathjack, a Seether, a Harrower, a Leviathan, and Slayer, and a Reaper as well as my TempleCon 2010 tumbler.  Now I just have to finish painting some of these models so they’re worthy of the case.

TempleCon 2010 Recovery

Well, it’s been a week since TempleCon 2010 and I’m finally feeling coherent enough to post about it.  Like every year, it was an amazing three days of playing games, reconnecting with friends, and generally having a great time.  We had at least 173 players attend this year according to the count from Eternal War.  I may find a few ‘tournament only’ players when I go through those files and I know we had a few folks who showed up and played but didn’t bother registering for events.

As for myself, my Cryx army made it all the way to TempleCon and only came out of the case once.  That was to try out the new BattleFoam bag for size, not for an actual game.  Still, I feel my gaming batteries recharged after a long downward slump the last few months and I’m ready to get back onto the table.

Keep your eyes on this site for a full breakdown of stats from the tournaments and even a photo or three.  I’ll also be updating the calendar with lots of events in the next few days.

TempleCon 2010 games schedule finalized

That’s right!  The schedule for Privateer Press games at TempleCon 2010 has been finalized and here it is in all its glory.  You thought you were ready, but this is going to blow the doors off:

PREPARE. TempleCon 2010 boasts the best schedule of Privateer Press events to date and is officially supported for the first time by Privateer Press. That’s right, the people that have brought you the best in gaming for the last few years have stepped up to the plate and provided a HUGE amount of prize support for your enjoyment.

Privateer Press staff will be in attendance, and they will all have armies at their disposal for some casual gaming:

Jason Soles (Lead Developer)

David “DC” Carl (Playtest Coordinator)

Simon Berman (Staff Writer)

Jack Coleman (Press Gang Quartermaster)

PREPARE. This year’s schedule marks a significant transformational step in the evolution of Privateer Press events at TempleCon.  We have also changed the face of Eternal War – no longer a qualifying event, this casual play experience now offers significant rewards for playing your favorite games against new friends from all over the globe.

That’s right, the more games you play, the more tickets you earn.  Redeem your tickets for awesome prizes or experiences such as a game against a member of the PP staff. Eternal War has also birthed a monstrous twin in the form of All You Can Eat for the casual Monsterpocalypse player.

Just like last year there are a series of qualifying events that will send the best players to face off against each other in the Championship events on Sunday.  Even if you don’t qualify for the Championships be sure to stick around since the leftover prizes from Eternal War and All You Can Eat will be raffled off at the end of the day.

PREPARE. With this knowledge in hand, take some time to review the details below.
